Prominent Nose
I'm Gary, working in the service industry, and I have a slightly upturned nose. From the front, you can directly see my nostrils, and the bridge of my nose isn't prominent. I've been self-conscious about my appearance since high school, particularly my upturned nose. Whether looking in the mirror or talking to others, I've always felt quite insecure.
Choosing Second-Generation Silicone + Ear Cartilage
Because...
The surgery with second-generation silicone belongs to the three-stage rhinoplasty, suitable for anyone unsatisfied with their nose shape. The options for the nasal pad include ear cartilage, septal cartilage, and rib cartilage. My choice of ear cartilage is because, compared to rib cartilage, the incisions are smaller and more concealed, safer, and also more affordable.

Rhinoplasty Satisfaction Score: 9
Minimal Discomfort Post-Surgery
Post-surgery, I didn't need nasal packing; the wound was
tiny, just requiring a strip of tape on my nose. After the
anesthesia wore off, there was just a slight swelling and
a foreign body sensation,
which didn't significantly interfere with daily
life.
I think the clinic's post-operative care service is
excellent,
with consultants regularly following up and doctors
providing advice on wound healing. I give a satisfaction score of 9 for the overall
rhinoplasty experience.

Second-Generation Silicone Rhinoplasty
Boosting My Confidence
After the rhinoplasty, my confidence has significantly
increased, especially noticeable when taking photos.
Previously, finding the right angle could take up to 10
minutes, but now it just takes a minute. Not only is it a
huge time-saver, but
I also feel more confident and photogenic.
Many of my friends, seeing my post-surgery results, have
also expressed interest in consulting. From my experience, I
recommend
considering factors like the doctor's experience, case
richness, clinic reviews, and other patients' genuine
feedback before consultation.
Bistool Second-Generation Silicone Rhinoplasty
Bistool's second-generation silicone, developed in Korea to match Asian nasal structures, features soft material with thinner edges for improved tissue compatibility, reducing movement and preventing unnatural protrusions. It minimizes post-operative stiffness, avoiding the appearance of steps or shadows. With 45 sizes available, selections can be made to match preferred nasal shapes, thus eliminating the need for trimming, and includes larger sizes specifically for men.
Two Primary Surgical Approaches for a Refined Nose
1 Two-stage Rhinoplasty: Focuses on both the bridge and tip of the nose, inserting the implant in its "original form" to elevate and extend the bridge, while using autologous ear cartilage to enhance the tip's curvature as a buffer. Utilizing an "endonasal" approach, incisions are discreetly placed inside the nostrils, leaving virtually no scars post-recovery, though its adaptability is limited and it's not suitable for complex nasal corrections, best for those desiring a prominent bridge.
2 Three-Stage Rhinoplasty: Involves the nasal bridge, columella, and tip, also known as structural rhinoplasty. The implant is "segmented and cut" to elevate the bridge, allowing for significant adjustments to the nose shape. Autologous ear cartilage is used to enhance the tip's curvature and refine the tip, nostrils, and correct any deviation in the septum. Utilizing an "open approach" with incisions at the columella, it enables the sculpting of complex nasal shapes such as low bridges, wide nostrils, or upturned noses, offering a comprehensive customization to meet individual nasal preferences.
Whether opting for a two-stage or three-stage rhinoplasty, Bistool's second-generation silicone implants can be used. The medical team at Nice Clinic will discuss and evaluate with you, choosing the appropriate surgical method based on your needs to create the perfect nose shape you envision.

Precautions
- After surgery, continue to apply ice to the forehead, eye area, and glabella for the first three days. Do this 5-6 times a day, for 15-30 minutes each time. Avoid pressing down hard while icing.
- Start warm compresses after stitches are removed, following the same method as icing, to help reduce swelling and bruising.
- It's normal to have some blood-tinged discharge for the first three days after surgery. If there is significant bleeding or severe nasal congestion, contact your doctor immediately.
- Avoid sleeping on your stomach for the first week after surgery and try not to wear glasses to prevent pressure on the nasal bridge.
- Maintain cleanliness around the eyes to avoid infections like conjunctivitis, which could lead to nasal infection through the nasolacrimal duct.
- After surgery, steer clear of cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, spicy foods, and tea to prevent swelling or impair wound healing.
- Refrain from blowing your nose hard or picking it to avoid bleeding at the surgical site.
- Avoid bending over, lowering your head, and engaging in vigorous exercise after surgery.
- Elevate your head with pillows while sleeping to minimize swelling.
FAQ
About Bistool Second-Generation Silicone Rhinoplasty
No! Rhinoplasty involves the skin and mucosal tissue layers of the nose, without affecting the olfactory nerves or damaging the nasal mucosa structure. Therefore, it won't impact your sense of smell or cause any breathing discomfort.
Within the first two weeks after rhinoplasty, the nose can be swollen and bruised with serous fluid and blood seepage; one month post-surgery, the swelling begins to subside, and there's no longer significant bleeding; around 4-6 weeks later, the shape will mostly stabilize, increasingly resembling a natural nose shape.
Most incisions are hidden in inconspicuous areas, and since the surgical cuts are small, they're generally not visible. Scars will gradually fade over six months. During this time, minimizing stretching of the incision and avoiding sun exposure can effectively reduce scar formation.
